Tea and Healthy Lifestyles

Tea is a popular beverage enjoyed by many around the world for its soothing and refreshing qualities. Apart from being a comforting drink, tea also offers various health benefits due to its antioxidant properties. It can help boost the immune system, improve digestion, and even aid in weight management when consumed as part of a balanced diet.

When it comes to portion size, it is essential to practice moderation in all aspects of eating and drinking. Enjoying tea in moderate amounts can be beneficial, but excessive consumption may lead to negative effects such as disrupted sleep patterns or increased caffeine intake.

In the context of promoting healthy lifestyles, incorporating a balanced diet, regular exercise, and sufficient sleep are key components. Along with consuming tea in moderation, it is important to focus on whole foods, stay hydrated, and engage in physical activities that suit your preferences and abilities. By making small, sustainable changes to your daily routine, you can work towards achieving a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Tea is a great choice as part of a healthy lifestyle, but what about the scones, clotted cream and all the desserts? How do I fit it in? Well first of all, I host a monthly tea club, which means the rest of the month I am not indulging on clotted cream and desserts. Afternoon tea is a special occasion treat and should be enjoyed as one as part of your healthy lifestyle. Remember, life is about the balance between portion size and indulgence. The wonderful thing about afternoon tea is the size of everything, Have you ever noticed that the desserts are dainty and small. Scone size (at least at the teas I host!) are also often small. Clotted cream if you eat a lot of it is definitely calorie rich, but it is also extremely filling and you can really only have a little to be satisfied.

So don't have afternoon tea every day, but once a month, even once a week can be a sweet indulgence you can still enjoy without the guilt.
